It is "very disappointing" but "not surprising" that many conservative states are lagging behind blue states in COVID-19 vaccinations, according to American Public Health Association Executive
365 Days of Texas True Crime: Broomstick Killer P2
….
….so here we are…it’s October 1989 and Kenneth “The Broomstick Killer” Allen McDuff has just been paroled. He heads back to his hometown of Rosebud where the residents are out of their minds afraid of once again having to live with this bully of man and absolutely floored that he was released after what he did to those innocent teenagers. But he’s been in prison “reforming” since his arrest and conviction in 1966 right? Isn’t that what prison if for, punishment and reform? Besides it’s not like he had done anything like this before or already had an escalating criminal history with a family history of disfunction and violence right? About that town in Rosebud….. (I like to tell some of a story and then go back, like movie directors these days seem to keep doing things, which I’m totally ok with)

After a year-long hiatus, Ste. Genevieve’s 4th Friday Art Walk is back! On Friday, April 23, more than a dozen art spaces in the downtown area will welcome visitors from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“We suspended the art walks due to COVID-19, and while we’re not out of the woods yet, a lot of people in our community have been vaccinated,” organizer Mary Peura said. “We consulted with the art spaces and decided we could resume the walks so long as people continue to take precautions.”
According to Peura that means some art spaces will require visitors to wear masks and some will forgo the usual practice of serving wine or food. “But the wonderful art that’s at the heart of the event will be on display and we have several new spaces participating,” Peura said. “It’s exciting to see it grow.”
BROCKVILLE, ONT. The Keystorm Pub in Brockville announced the winners of its curbside charity challenge on Tuesday, a challenge that far exceeded expectations. We set out to aim for 1,000 meals in 10 days and we ended up with 1,517 meals in ten days, said Keystorm Pub owner Dan Thompson. Customers who ordered a meal at full price over the 10-day period could nominate an essential worker, whose name would be entered into a draw to win $1000. We hinged it on a dollar per meal so, when we broke the 1000 mark, we sent out to everybody we would continue along because we still had two days to go. We ended up with another 517 meals so we ended up giving away a second prize today for 500 dollars, Thompson said.
