Massachusetts is rapidly becoming a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants, including dangerous criminals. The Biden Administration recently ended the successful relationship between Bristol County Sheriff Tom s Hodgson and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. That suits the radical leftist politicians in Massachusetts just fine. It s a big part of their agenda, which includes dismantling ICE.
Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey and most members of the U.S. House delegation, including Rep. Bill Keating and Rep. Jake Auchincloss, applauded Biden s decision. All four signed a joint statement praising the administration s action, stating that every person has the right to dignity, safety, and due process. This decision affirms that right, and is a victory for the detainees, families, lawyers, and advocates who have pushed for more accountability and more humane treatment by the BCSO.

Last week the Biden administration ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement to close a detention facility in Massachusetts that has held many people from Connecticut. When ICE arrests immigrants here, they’re sent out of state because ICE has no jail beds here.
Most have ended up at the Bristol County House of Correction, where there have long been reports of inhumane conditions, overcrowding and poor sanitation. Following an incident during the pandemic, Massachusetts authorities found that Bristol violated detainees’ civil rights.
Now ICE has been ordered to end its contract with the jail and stop working with Bristol officers on immigration enforcement.
Eight members of the Massachusetts delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Commonwealth s two U.S. Senators have signed a statement congratulating the Biden Administration for ending the relationship between the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) and the Bristol County House of Corrections. You can t make this stuff up.
Let s be clear about what happened. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has discontinued the 287(g) agreement that allowed Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson to work cooperatively with ICE for the detention and supervision of criminal illegal aliens at the C. Carlos Carreiro Immigration Detention Center in Dartmouth. The arrangement has been successful since 2007 and has generated some $60 million for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since then.
