Missouri State Lawmaker Rick Roeber Resigns After His Children Accuse Him of Sexual Abuse On 4/13/21 at 10:31 PM EDT Republican Missouri state Representative Rick Roeber has resigned following accusations of sexual and physical abuse made by his now-adult children. Roeber s letter of resignation, submitted Tuesday, said that he and his fiancée will relocate out-of-state to be closer to their extended families. The letter doesn t reference his children s accusations. Friday will be his last day in office. Roeber s adult children spoke publicly of the alleged abuse to the Kansas City Star in September 2020. The abuse allegedly occurred in the early 1990s, during the children s scheduled visits with their father. At the time, Roeber had undergone divorce proceedings with his ex-wife, Michelle Keller.

By Jason Hancock Missouri Independent Citing the “severity of the allegations” against Republican state Rep. Rick Roeber, legislative leaders have asked Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker to help ensure the safety of a minor child with whom Roeber reportedly has regular contact. Soon after The Independent reported the request from GOP lawmakers to Baker, Roeber announced he was resigning. Roeber, of Lee’s Summit, was elected to a seat in the Missouri House in November despite allegations by his adult children that he physically and sexually abused them when they were young. The House Ethics Committee launched an investigation into the allegations in January.

Two children were seen in the back seat of the car. Officers retreated behind their cruisers for cover and called for more officers.One of the officers saw that the woman was no longer holding the gun and police used ballistic
