Multiple pet food products have been recalled by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after reports of multiple dog deaths and illnesses were received.
ABC 27 News reports that at least 28 dogs have died while eight others have become sick as a result of eating products produced by Midwestern Pet Food Inc.
These deaths and illnesses may be attributed to “potentially fatal levels of aflatoxin” a harmful substance produced by mold grown on corn and other grains within the food.
