MOUNT PROSPECT, IL An arrest has been made in a traffic crash that killed three people last month in Mount Prospect. Garrett M. Kowalski, 25, of the 500 block of N Third Avenue, Des Plaines, is accused of three felony counts of reckless homicide, three felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release from the Mount Prospect Police Department.
The charges stem from the traffic crash that took place March 7 on Rand Road (Route 12) and Mt. Prospect Road. Kowalski was driving a gold Ford Escape that struck a white Honda Accord, killing Des Plaines residents Francisco Flores Rodriguez, Georgina Perez Gomez and Francisco Javier Flores Perez, according to police.

Garrett Kowalski, of the 500 block of North Third Avenue, was charged last week with three counts of reckless homicide, three counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled substance, Ketamine, in the March 7 crash in Mount Prospect, according to the Cook County Stateâs attorneyâs office.
Kowalski appeared in court Friday and was being held in Cook County Jail in lieu of $800,000 bail Tuesday morning, according to records.

A Des Plaines man has been charged in a Mount Prospect crash last month that killed three members of a Des Plaines family.
Mount Prospect police said Thursday that Garrett M. Kowalski, 25, of the 500 block of North Third Avenue, ran two red lights before crashing into the victims vehicle at 108 miles per hour on March 7 at Rand and Mount Prospect roads. Police also said a blood sample revealed the presence of a controlled substance, ketamine, in his blood.
The Cook County state s attorney s office approved three counts of reckless homicide, three counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and one count of possession of a controlled substance, police said in a news release.
