Two of Delaware s largest and most well-known animal welfare organizations announced their intent to merge last week in a move they hope will lead to more animals being saved and better access to services for Delawareans.
Board members at the Delaware Humane Association and Delaware SPCA voted to commence a merger process to combine the two organizations. The integration process is expected to be completed by the end of the year. We kind of came to the conclusion that we were both trying to do the same thing, said Patrick Carroll, DHA’s executive director who will be the new organization s CEO. We have the same mission. It just makes sense to combine forces and do it together.
