Eastern Airways launched flights to the new “Green List” British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar from Southampton, flying twice weekly year-round to the Mediterranean UK overseas territory.
The UK’s Regional Airline took off on May 24 morning, marking this first ever scheduled service to Gibraltar in the Western Mediterranean from Southampton Airport, as one of the few UK Government Green list destinations currently open to UK tourism following the full vaccination completion by Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar. It is also the “first” scheduled international passenger service to depart Southampton Airport in 2021 following the effects if the Covid-19 pandemic on international travel.
