1 Driver Killed, 1 Airlifted After Head-On Crash Near Torrington The crash happened around 7:37 a.m. near milepost 87.8 on U.S. 85. The patrol says 19-year-old Torrington resident Tyler Schaub was driving northbound when he veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming car driven by 18-year-old Torrington resident Samantha Hill. Hill, who was buckled up, was extricated from her car and life-flighted to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with life-threatening injuries. Driver fatigue on the part of Schaub is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.

One dead, one critically injured in head-on collision south of Torrington Saturday By Greg Hirst on March 6, 2021 File Photo, Oil City CASPER, Wyo A Wyoming resident died and another person is in critical condition Saturday, March 6 following a two-vehicle crash south of Torrington. The Wyoming Highway Patrol said 19-year-old Tyler Schaub was driving northbound on US Highway 85 when, based on evidence at the scene and witness statements, his vehicle veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Kia Optima. Both vehicles came to rest in opposite ditches.  The driver of the Optima was extricated from the vehicle by Goshen County emergency personnel and transported “with life-threatening injuries” by helicopter to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
