Govt ends lockdown in Mardan - Daily Times

Daily Times May 3, 2021 The provincial government Sunday decided to end lockdown in Mardan and appealed before the people for adherence to coronavirus preventive standard operating procedures (SOPs). The decision was taken in a meeting held at Divisional Commissioner Office, Mardan with Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs and Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the chair. Beside, Divisional Commissioner, Muntazir Khan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Habibullah Arif, Regional Police Officer (RPO) and District Police Officer (DPO), public representatives including MPAs Abdul Salam Afridi, Iftikhar Mashwani, Zahir Shah Toru, Tufail Anjum and Sajida Hanif also attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed prevailing coronavirus situation in Mardan and matters relating to lockdown in district Mardan.

Mardan admin relaxes lockdown after decline in corona cases Peshawar May 3, 2021 MARDAN: The district administration here on Sunday announced to relax the one-week lockdown which was imposed in the district on 26 April after the ratio of corona positive cases reached 50. It was decided in a high-level meeting at the commissioner’s office. Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Yahya Akhunzada, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers Zahir Shah Toru, Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Tufail Anjum, commissioner Mardan division Muntazir Khan, Regional Police Officer (RPO), Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif, District Police Officer (DPO) Zahidullah Khan and others official attended the meeting. Talking to reporters after the meeting, PTI lawmaker Zahir Shah Toru said that the lockdown had been imposed to bring down the number of cases in Mardan. National April 29, 2021 GUJRANWALA: Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghuman Wednesday said in view of the growing cases of coronavirus, the SOPs issued by the government would be fully implemented and no one would be allowed to carry on business after 6 pm except petrol stations, medical stores and corona vaccination centres. Addressing a review meeting of anti-coronavirus measures throughout the division, the commissioner said strict action would be taken against violators in this regard. He said clear instructions had been issued to all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to strictly implement COVID-19 SOPs in the interest of the life protection of the people. The commissioner said as a nation we must take all possible precautionary measures to combat the spread pandemic.

Four arrested for pilfering electricity National April 22, 2021 SARGODHA: The Fesco task force claimed on Wednesday to have caught four people for their alleged involvement in electricity theft. The Fesco task force along with police conducted raids in Hujjan, Bucha Kalan and Chak 19-SB and caught Asif, M Akram, Shaukat and Jabbar Ali red-handed while stealing electricity direct from main transmission lines and tampering with meters. Cases have been registered against the accused. Seven held for profiteering: The price control magistrate arrested seven shopkeepers for profiteering and overcharging in various parts of the city on Wednesday. According to official sources, the magistrates inspected various points, including Factory Area, Chak 79-NB and 80-NB, and found violations at seven points and arrested shopkeepers identified as Ahtesham, Muhammad Rafaqat, Shabbir Hussain, Nasir and others and imposed fine on them. Cases have also been registered against the accused.
