This will ensure tourism businesses in each region are well placed to prosper as the sector rebuilds from the dark days of the Covid pandemic,” Regional Tourism New Zealand Chair David Perks says.

Additional $6 million boost for Tasmanian tourism

Joint media release with Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, The Hon Dan Tehan MP The Tasmanian tourism sector will get an additional $6 million boost from the Morrison Government, including funding to promote Tasmania as a premier winter tourist destination. The Government is providing: $2 million to support the Winter 2021 marketing program; $2.8 million to drive investment in new agritourism experiences and leverage Tasmania’s strengths in artisanal and small batch products and experiences; $500,000 for Business Events Tasmania to target corporate decision makers to choose Tasmania as an event destination; and $582,000 to train up media and travel trade partners to increase visibility in domestic markets.

Date Time Drink Victorian Program backs local brewers & bars The Victorian Government is getting behind Victoria’s brewers, winemakers and distillers with a new program aimed at getting more locally produced drinks into bars and restaurants. Minister for Agriculture and Regional Development Mary-Anne Thomas announced on Wednesday $1.5 million of funding for the Drink Victorian Program at the official opening of the Australian Craft Beer Centre of Excellence in Ballarat. The Victorian Drinks Alliance – a collaboration between Victorian beverage producers and Food and Drink Victoria – developed the program to build domestic demand for locally produced drinks, in response to the challenges faced during the pandemic.
