Products donated through MEDIC help community members in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky.
MEDIC Regional Blood Center said it has an immediate, critical need for O positive, A positive, A negative, and B positive blood types. MEDIC said it has a low inventory of B negative blood type.
“There continues to be a regional blood shortage in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky region,” the emergency appeal said. “MEDIC’s O positive inventory level has been critical for weeks.”
All donors on Friday, May 7, will receive a $10 e-gift Card, MEDIC shirt, and Texas Roadhouse coupon, the emergency appeal said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. MEDIC Regional Blood Center is hoping the donation force is strong with East Tennesseans as the area continues to experience a shortage of emergency blood supplies.
MEDIC is in an immediate, critical need of O Positive, A Positive, A Negative and platelet donors right now. The center said there continues to be a regional blood shortage at the 24 East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky hospitals it serves as a provider.
Golf tournament to benefit Area 33 Special Olympics
SEVIERVILLE â The Sevier County Gifted Olympians Lifelong Friends League is hosting its annual golf tournament at Sevierville Golf Club. The event was rescheduled from March 31 to Wednesday, April 14.
Registration for the two-man scramble is $190 per team. A shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.

Sevierville BMA schedules budget workshop
SEVIERVILLE â The Sevierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen has scheduled a workshop on Monday, April 12.
The workshop will begin at 3 p.m. at the Sevierville Civic Center, 130 Gary Wade Boulevard. The purpose of this meeting will be for pre-budget discussion and other items as needed.
