For the second year in a row, the Prince Albert Raiders have had a player selected in the opening round of the NHL Draft.
With the final pick of Friday’s first round, the Chicago Blackhawks used the 32nd selection to take blueliner Nolan Allan.
The 18-year-old from Davidson had been projected by many to be picked between the late second round and early fourth round of Saturday’s portion of the draft.

Raiders netminder a potential late round pick in this weekend’s NHL Draft
From a statistical standpoint, one might think that Carter Serhyenko’s sophomore season in the Western Hockey League was a bit of a challenging one.
During his time in the WHL’s East Division bubble with the Prince Albert Raiders, the 18-year-old from Saskatoon had a 2-5-3 record with a 3.99 goals against average and a .858 save percentage.
While his numbers weren’t as strong as the 7-5-1 mark, 2.21 goals against average and .916 save percentage he had during the 2019-20 season, Serhyenko feels that the two months he spent in Regina will prove to be huge in his development.

Blueliner ranked by NHL Central Scouting for second straight year
A lot can change in the span of a couple of years in the world of major junior hockey.
After joining the Prince Albert Raiders ahead of the 2019-20 season following two campaigns in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League with the Tisdale Trojans, Landon Kosior will be entering this fall as one of the more experienced players on the team’s blueline.
“I hope I can be a leader for the team, help the guys out and hold people accountable,” Kosior said.
“The main goal for all of us is to keep the ‘Raider Way’ going. We’re still the defending WHL (Western Hockey League) champions and I believe that we can defend the title this year.”
