We may breathe again, America. Finally.
Breathe sighs of relief. Sighs of joy. Sighs of peace. Sighs of positive possibilities.
Finally.
Not everyone will, of course, and that’s okay. That’s America an America, you just recall, where we may hold disparate ideas and ideals yet share them with respect. Where we debate without denouncing or dividing. Where we ‘rassle without rancor or retaliation. (Then go get a beer.)
An America that is a far more perfect union than the traumatized disunion we dearly hope to leave behind, than the ugly cries for an uncivil war we pray fade into deaf ears.

In a rebuke to the administration of President Donald Trump on its last full day, a federal appeals court has struck down its replacement for Barack Obama’s Clean Power Plan.
The action, in a 2-1 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, leaves President-elect Joe Biden with the opportunity to enact perhaps an even stronger version of what had been viewed by many as one of the top achievements of the Obama administration’s effort to fight climate change.
The incoming administration has repeatedly signaled that addressing climate change will be a major priority. This ruling gives Biden the ability to aggressively move forward on reducing a significant source of carbon pollution sooner than later, according to environmental advocates.

WASHINGTON (AFP) The projected Democratic takeover of the US Senate is a game-changer for President-elect Joe Biden, who will be able to push through his key goals and nominations without systematic Republican obstruction.
Raphael Warnock, a pastor, and young political star Jon Ossoff held leads in dual-seat Senate runoffs in Georgia over Republican incumbents closely allied with defeated President Donald Trump.
The victories would mean that Democrats and independents aligned with them will have 50 seats an evenly divided Senate that gives Democrats control as Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will break ties.
ATLANTA (AP) Democrat Raphael Warnock won one of Georgia’s two Senate runoffs Wednesday, becoming the first Black senator in his state’s history and putting the Senate majority within the party's reach. A pastor who spent the past 15 years leading the Atlanta church where Martin Luther King Jr. preached, Warnock defeated Republican incumbent Kelly Loeffler. It was a stinging rebuke of outgoing President Donald Trump, who made one of his final.
