Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 NHL season due to a herniated disc in his neck. The team announced on Wednesday saying that Eichel is hoping to be ready for next season.
It’s been an abysmal year for the Sabres. Eichel has not suited up for the team since March 7th. They endured an 18-game winless streak, the longest in the salary cap era. Buffalo is certainly in position to extend its playoff drought for a 10th consecutive season and shipped off Taylor Hall, Brandon Montour and Eric Stall shortly before Monday’s NHL trade deadline.
