Brandon School Division officials announced on Tuesday that someone in a Grade 12 classroom at Vincent Massey High School recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The individual in question may have been infectious when they attended the school on Friday, according to a news release from BSD.
However, division officials still maintain that the infection was not believed to be acquired at school.
This marks the second COVID-19 case that Vincent Massey has had to endure in just over a week. On May 10, BSD announced that someone in a Grade 9 class had also contracted the virus and may have been infectious on May 6.

Over the last four days, officials representing the Brandon School Division and the Park West School Division announced that new COVID-19 cases have emerged in their respective institutions.
One of the most recent cases came to light on Monday afternoon, with Park West representatives announcing that a student from Major Pratt School in Russell recently tested positive for the virus.
However, since the student hasn’t attended in-person instruction since May 7, officials believe there is no risk of school transmission after consulting with members of public health.
