No New COVID Deaths In Hamilton County, 79 More Cases; Tennessee Has 21 More Deaths Thursday, April 8, 2021
Hamilton County had 79 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 42,974. There have been no more deaths from the virus, and the total remains at 480 in the county.
The number of those who have recovered from coronavirus in Hamilton County is 41,858, which is 97 percent, and there are 636 active cases. There are 75 patients hospitalized and 16 in Intensive Care Units. Two others are in the hospital with suspected COVID. Of those hospitalized, 27 are county residents.
The number of coronavirus cases in Tennessee is at 820,965 on Thursday with 1,460 new cases. There have been 21 more deaths from the virus, for a total of 11,997, state Health Department officials said.

Hamilton County had 35 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total to 42,840. There has been one more death from the virus, a white female, aged 81 or older for a total of 480 in the county. There are 74 patients hospitalized and 18 in Intensive Care Units. Six others are in the hospital with suspected COVID. Of those hospitalized, 31 are county residents. The number of those who have recovered from coronavirus in Hamilton County is 41,754, which is 97 percent, and there are 606 active cases.
The number of coronavirus cases in Tennessee is at 818,008 on Tuesday with 986 new cases. There have been 38 more deaths from the virus, for a total of 11,967, state Health Department officials said.

Hamilton County had 55 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 42,895. There have been no more deaths from the virus, and the total remains at 480 in the county. There are 75 patients hospitalized and 17 in Intensive Care Units. Three others are in the hospital with suspected COVID. Of those hospitalized, 27 are county residents. The number of those who have recovered from coronavirus in Hamilton County is 41,809, which is 97 percent, and there are 606 active cases.
The number of coronavirus cases in Tennessee is at 819,505 on Wednesday with 1,497 new cases. There have been nine more deaths from the virus, for a total of 11,976, state Health Department officials said.
Those who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine in Ashley County will now have an opportunity to do so in only one dose.
The Ashley County Department of Health will host a mass COVID-19 clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14 at First Baptist Church in Hamburg.
The clinic will offer the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, which only requires one dose. The Moderna vaccine, which is available at Walmart Pharmacy and Gammelâs Clinic Pharmacy in Crossett, is considered fully effective when completely administered but requires two doses for full administration.
The doses will be available to anyone 18 or older on a first-come, first served basis, and will be provided without out-of-pocket expense for the recipient.
Man, 52, Killed In Single-Vehicle Wreck In Cleveland Monday, April 5, 2021
At 3:20 a.m., Cleveland Police responded to a crash with injuries on Westland Drive near Lupton Drive. Officers found a Hyundai Santa Fe down an embankment in a ditch and on its top.
There was a single male occupant in the vehicle. Fire Department personnel extricated him from the vehicle. He was transported to Tennova ER by Bradley County EMS where he was pronounced dead.
It is unclear at this time if speed or any impairment contributed to the crash. This crash is still under investigation.
