BCSO Promotes Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month Thursday, May 6, 2021 The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to promote Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Agencies participate by providing information and increasing awareness in their communities about the importance of sharing the road and looking twice for motorcyclists.   “As the weather gets warmer, we will likely see more of our friends on motorcycles sharing the streets with automobiles, which is why it is the perfect time for us to remind the Bradley County community about the vulnerability of motorcycle riders,” says Sheriff Steve Lawson. “All motorists need to know how to anticipate and respond to motorcyclists to avoid crashes. By taking extra precautions, we can all help prevent motorcycle-involved collisions.”

Burglary Suspect Apprehended By Bradley County Sheriff s Office K-9 Unit Wednesday, April 28, 2021 Bradley County Sheriff s Office deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, to a barn on Cohulla Road SE in reference to a burglary in progress.   While en route, a deputy made contact with the suspect’s vehicle, at which time the vehicle veered off down a driveway, drove through a fence and crashed into a tree. Two men exited the vehicle and proceeded to run. One deputy deployed his K-9 partner, who successfully apprehended the driver.   The driver was identified as Curtis Collier and was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce due to injuries sustained from K-9 apprehension. The suspect’s vehicle, which held the stolen property in plain sight, has been seized and transported to the BradleyCounty Justice Center for a forensics investigation.

Police Arrest Man Wanted For Thursday s SunTrust Bank Robbery Friday, March 12, 2021 Police on Friday arrested Todd Templeton, 51, in regards the armed bank robbery of SunTrust Bank on East Third Street that occurred on Thursday. Police said the arrest is due to tips from members of the community and assistance from numerous law enforcement agencies Templeton was located in Cleveland on Friday. He is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. He is also wanted on active warrants for bank robberies in other states and is currently on federal probation. Templeton will be booked at the Bradley County Jail after he receives medical treatment for a pre-existing injury.

Nearly 2,000 Grams Meth Recovered During Traffic Stop In Cleveland Thursday, February 4, 2021 Anita Campbell of Ringgold has been arrested on one count of possession of meth for resale after deputies with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office recovered approximately 2,000 grams of suspected methamphetamines during a traffic stop on Lead Mine Valley Road in Cleveland on Wednesday. At approximately 1 p.m., a deputy on patrol in the area received reports of a vehicle that had been seen crossing the center lane multiple times. Deputies conducted a traffic stop, which led to a consented vehicle search. Multiple brick-like substances were located during the search, later identified as suspected methamphetamines totaling approximately 2,000 grams.
