The school said she was late picking up her daughter, a witness claimed. ‘Loving soul’ Iram Shehzadi, 39, was on the school run when she was tragically struck in Bradford, West Yorkshire, on Monday afternoon. As paramedics worked in vain to save her life her mobile rang as the school called to ask why she was running late to pick up her child, reports The Mirror.

05:30 EDT, 12 May 2021 A mother-of-five has been killed in a hit-and-run after a car ploughed into her while she was walking to pick up her children from school before the driver fled the scene. The 39-year-old woman, named locally as Iram Shehzadi, was hit by a grey Citroen C1 at a junction in Bradford, West Yorkshire, at around 3pm on Monday. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A 41-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.  Police have since confirmed that he has now also been arrested on suspicion of murder, following further investigations.

Man arrested on suspicion of murder after pedestrian killed in hit and run

Following further investigations, he has now also been arrested on suspicion of murder. Officers are aware of rumour suggesting the car involved was being chased by police just before the collision. The force can confirm these rumours are incorrect and that the Citroen C1 was not being pursued by the police. West Yorkshire Police are continuing to investigate and appeal for witnesses. Chief Inspector Daniel Ware, of Bradford District Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this fatal collision and are supporting the victim’s family at what is clearly a devastating time for them. “I want to thank residents and witnesses who have come forward with information to support the police investigation, and continue to urge witnesses who we may not have spoken with to contact us.

Man arrested after police find blank rounds from firearms discharge in Windhill A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after police found blank rounds when what was believed to imitation firearm  was discharged in Windhill this morning. Police are appealing for witnesses after officers were called at 5:52am to reports of a man in possession of a firearm on West Royd Avenue. A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers were deployed to the area and following examination of the scene, they found evidence that a firearm had been discharged. However, through examination, the spokesperson said they are thought to be blank rounds of ammunition from an imitation firearm. No-one was injured and no damage was caused during the incident.
