The proposed map of a mass transit system in West Yorkshire WORK could start on a new mass transit system for the region as early as 2030, according to the Leeds latest long term transport plans. The system, which would include links between Heckmondwike, Bradford and Leeds city centre, has been in the planning stages for several years. The new timescale is set out in a new document produced as part of Leeds City Council’s Connecting Leeds strategy, which aims to make the city carbon-neutral in the next decade and increase the number of people cycling by 400 per cent in just 10 years.
