Adding to a growing body of research about hemp cultivation, UC Cooperative Extension advisor Sarah Light and UCCE weed specialist Brad Hanson studied the symptoms of herbicide drift on this high-value commodity that is now being produced in many parts of California.

Hemp was legalized for production nationwide in the United States under the 2018 Farm Bill. Hemp has many uses – from textiles to food to biofuel – however is most sought-after for the chemical component cannabidiol (CBD), extracted for medicinal use.
The Barbarians players included cattle producers, agents, buyers and beef industry identities.
They showed plenty of heart but were beaten convincingly by the Classic Wallabies, who were captained by Lote Luqiri and included the likes of Stephen Moore, Nathan Sharpe and George Smith.
Hanson said despite the result, he and his teammates were thrilled to be involved.
âThat was living a lifelong dream to play against the Wallabies. I loved every minute that we were out there,â he said.
âThe idea came up to put a beef industry team together. It took a bit of doing and the first time the whole team met was on Thursday at five oâclock for the captainâs run.

Willis: People are what makes this community this school is so great
As the 2020-2021 school year comes to an end and the 2021-2022 year is just around the corner, some changes in the Wheaton school district will be made.
Tyler Willis, current Wheaton High School principal, is leaving to take the same position at Cassville High School, and Jody Cavness will be stepping up to the role at Wheaton.
My contract started on Aug. 1, 2017, and my contract will end on June 30, Willis said. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in fifth grade. One of my fifth-grade teachers was really impactful on my life, and at the time I wanted to be like him. As I grew older I realized it was the ability to make an impact on a student that I was really drawn to.
