A 57-year-old Lubbock man has been indicted in the 2006 murder of a Buchanan Dam woman. A Llano County grand jury handed down the indictment May 3 against Jimmy Don Wolfenbarger, 57, formerly of Buchanan Dam, in the cold case murder of 46-year-old Holly Marie Simmons. Wolfenbarger turned himself into the Lubbock County Jail on Wednesday, May 12, but was released after posting a $2 million bond. He was ordered to surrender his passport.

The contract was announced as a four-year deal that has an option for a fifth year. He will be eligible for selection immediately. Baker-Whiting signed his first professional contract last July, becoming the youngest player the Tacoma Defiance had ever signed. “Reed has shown promise in his time with the Academy and Tacoma Defiance, in addition to his extended time training in the First Team environment,” Sounders GM Garth Lagerwey said in a team statement. “It’s always nice to see young players climb the ranks within our development pipeline, and we look forward to seeing how Reed progresses from here.”

Now, a 253 aficionado takes over for a team that simultaneously got younger, and more experienced. Tacoma’s USL Championship team now averages just over 3 years of professional experience per player, and not just because of Taylor Mueller.
