BOISE â Interstate 84 will be closed between Eagle Road and I-184 (The Connector) for three hours overnight Monday, May 10, to allow Idaho Power crews to work over the roadway.
Idaho Power will be stringing new power lines adjacent to Cloverdale Road. To safely work over I-84, the utility company will install a net over the highway. The installation will require daytime work on the shoulder. Then, from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. on May 10, I-84 will be closed as crews erect the netting.
During the closure, I-84 traffic will be diverted to local roads. Eastbound traffic will exit at Eagle Road (Exit 46), travel along Overland Road, and re-enter the Interstate at Cole/Overland (Exit 50). Westbound I-84 and I-184 traffic will be detoured at Cole/Overland and Franklin Road (Exit 1) respectively. They will travel on Franklin Road and re-enter the Interstate at Eagle Road.
“It’s the biggest project in the history of Brentwood from a financial perspective,” Brentwood Police Chief Jeff Hughes said. “It is going to put us on the map in regard to having a facility that is state of the art that will allow us to serve the citizens of Brentwood more efficiently and hopefully more effectively.”
Growing needs
From the department’s founding in 1971, the number of officers on staff has grown exponentially, according to the city. Fifty years ago, the department had three officers and a chief of police, Howard Buttrey, who retired in 2000. Later the department was served by former Chief Ricky Watson.

ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke’s original party with a purpose is back with some changes.
The 33rd First Fridays season starts Friday, May 7 and will still include live music and giving back, but instead of being a Downtown Roanoke street party, the event was moved to the Berglund Center parking lot.
As much as volunteers love hosting festivities and bringing business downtown, the location change was due to capacity and keeping everyone’s safety in mind.
Bobby Zamora and Mark Noble s plan for flats in Portslade has been rejected PLANS to build an 11-storey block of flats on a corner plot in Portslade were described as “ridiculous” as councillors refused to approve the scheme. They turned down planning permission because of concerns about the height and design of three proposed blocks of flats and a lack of parking. The scheme was put forward by a property company, Luna Group, which is part-owned by former Brighton and Hove Albion striker Bobby Zamora and West Ham United skipper Mark Noble. Zamora, 40, and Noble, 33, are also directors of Luna Group which sought planning permission for a scheme in three stages from Brighton and Hove City Council.
