A hot air balloon that crashed this morning near Queenstown leaving 11 people injured was seen moments earlier flying low near powerlines coming down too fast .
Emergency services rushed to the crash site at Morven Ferry Rd about 10am.
A St John spokesman said they received a 111 call from a member of the public at 9.54am. We have dispatched two helicopters, four ambulances, a manager in a first response vehicle and a First Response Unit to the scene.

A hot air balloon has gone down with 11 people on board near Arrowtown 9 July 2021
Emergency services are at the scene at Morven Ferry Road, after the crash at 10am.
Three ambulances were also seen driving down a shingle road to the crash site - followed by police
Crews from the Frankton and Arrowtown fire stations are also in attendance and the rescue helicopter is on site.
The balloon can be seen crumpled down among trees in a clearing.
The Transport Accident Investigation Commission has confirmed it s aware of the event
