Renowned artists Ms. Suhasini Maniratnam, Ms. Lakshmi Vishwanathan and Ms. Saraswathi Krishna Kumar enacted one true life story of prominent women achievers like Vai Mu Kothainayaki and Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbalakshmi in front of the audience. This acts were presented in a theatre format with one artist as each character narrating/ enacting their life story in first person to the audience. It was scripted in a style that made it seem like the character is having a conversation with the audience.

Chennai, January 21, 2020: MGM Healthcare performed a successful bilateral lung transplant on Shri Jagarnath Mahto, Honorable Education Minister of Jharkhand. The transplant for the honorable minister was necessitated due to the severe lung infection caused by COVID-19 and it was performed Dr. K. R. Balakrishnan, Chairman & Director of Cardiac Sciences and Director of the Heart and Lung Transplant Program at MGM Healthcare. He was ably assisted by his team of transplant specialists which included     Dr. Suresh Rao, Dr. Srinath and Dr Apar Jindal,   The 54-year old minister, in addition to being infected by the corona virus was also suffering from hypertension, diabetes and coronary artery disease, which made it a particularly challenging case.

He underwent a lung transplant and is doing well, hospital authorities said. Mr. Mahto, 54, developed fibrosis in the lungs due to the infection, which severely damaged the organ. He had several complications, including hypertension, diabetes and coronary artery disease. As his condition deteriorated, a clinical team from the hospital put him on ECMO on October 19, and airlifted him to Chennai for advanced care. Ten days later, he was tracheostomised. When a CT scan showed no improvement in his lungs, he was listed for a transplant.

A senior doctor gets his shot at RGGGH After reporting less than 16% attendance at the vaccination centres till 5.30pm, the directorate of public health announced that it was making changes in protocol by allowing all willing healthcare providers – registered and unregistered – to take the shots across the state on Sunday. The public health department had targeted 16,000 people on the first day, but it did not have the count of beneficiaries who received the invitation from the Cowin portal. In addition, some healthcare professionals including senior doctors who turned up at the venue found their names weren’t listed on the portal. “We have asked vaccinating officers to verify their identity, write their names on a register and offer the vaccination. The data will be fed into the system manually later,” said joint director (immunisation) Dr Vinay Kumar after discussions with senior health officials and the Centre.
