A brave domestic abuse survivor has told of a “reign of terror” at the hands of her partner who punched, spat and stamped on her before threatening her with a meat cleaver.
Sophie Eyers was subjected to physical, emotional and financial abuse throughout her six-month relationship with Samuel James, 30, before he was jailed in July 2019.
James, formerly of Brownlow Road, St Ives, was jailed for three years and given a restraining order for ten years.
Sophie has now recorded a film with Cambridgeshire Police to courageously share her experience as part of World Voice Day.

The federal excessive force lawsuit originally named the county, the Sheriff s Office, Sheriff Tom Spangler and 13 named deputies, and alleged that bodycam video from numerous Knox County Sheriff s Office deputies shows how they handled Johnathan R. General view of Shenley Road, Borehamwood A woman has pleaded guilty to misusing a blue badge in Borehamwood town centre. Last June, Rachel Carmelli of Brownlow Road, Borehamwood, parked in a loading bay area in Shenley Road whilst displaying the blue badge she had been allocated to use, when accompanied by her son because of his disability. Hertsmere Borough Council’s civil enforcement officers noticed Carmelli’s car parked in the loading bay area and began to write a ticket for the contravention. The council said the officers were then approached by Carmelli informing them that she should not be given a ticket as she was displaying a disabled blue badge.
