Jacinda Ardern has phoned Scott Morrison over the Australian prime minister s handling of the case of a dual-national accused ISIS bride caught fleeing Syria this week.
The New Zealand prime minister was furious Morrison had left her to shoulder the responsibility of dealing with 26-year-old Suhayra Aden and her two children.
She was arrested in Turkey this week while crossing the border from Syria, and had previously lived in Australia for two decades.
The mum is being held on anti-terror laws, accused of being an ISIS bride and was already on the Interpol watch list.
A spokesperson for the New Zealand leader said on Wednesday the call had been constructive and the two countries had agreed to work through those issues in the interests of cooperation.
