Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the ground-breaking ceremony for the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-II and the Surat Metro Rail Project via video-conferencing on Monday.
The ceremony will start at 10:30 AM via video conferencing, informed the Prime Minister s Office.
The Prime Minister s Office (PMO) on Saturday said the metro projects will provide an environment-friendly mass rapid transit system to the two cities in Gujarat.

The Prime Minister flagged off eight new trains from various destinations to Kevadiya.
The rail connectivity with Kevadiya is expected to script a new chapter in the development of the area, which will benefit both tourists and local adivasis as this will bring in new avenues of employment.
Underlining changes in approach in development of rail infrastructure in recent times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that this led to unprecedented progress in modernisation in Indian Railways.
PM Modi to flag off 8 trains connecting different parts of nation to Statue of Unity - A total of 10 trains will be connected to Kevadiya, out of which 3 trains have been extended and 7 trains are newly introduced for their regular run.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off eight
trains connecting major destinations in various states of the country with the
Statue of Unity in Gurjarat s Kevadiya, via video-conferencing.
The eight trains will connect Kevadiya to
Varanasi,
Ahmedabad, Delhi s Hazrat Nizamuddin, Rewa, Chennai and Pratapnagar.
During the programme, the Prime Minister also inaugurated several other railway projects - new station buildings in Kevadiya, Dabhoi and Chandod.
While addressing the audience, the Prime Minister said the train connectivity will be beneficial for tourists coming to see the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya as well as it will also help in changing the lives of the tribal community of the region.
