Council defends exempting electric cars from Thornbury car park restrictions

South Gloucestershire Council has defended its decision to make electric cars exempt from the two-hour parking limit in force at a Thornbury car park. An electric vehicle (EV) charging point was recently installed in St Mary Street car park, with cars using it permitted to park for up to four hours. The lifting of restrictions has been made to ensure people have time to sufficiently charge their vehicle, although the majority are not expected to need the full four hours. Parking signs at St Mary Street car park Resident Martyn Hall called the decision crazy . Two hours should be enough.
