A large police presence can be seen outside the Oneida Casino near Austin Straubel Airport Saturday evening.
Our partner station, WBAY-TV reports that Bobbi Webster, the Public Relations Director for Oneida Nation, says the suspect is in custody, and there is no further danger to the area.
Just after 8 p.m. Saturday, Oneida Nation officials
shared there was an active shooter situation at the Oneida Casino. All Oneida Casino locations will be closed until further notice.
Community members are asked to avoid the Main Casino on Highway 172.
Wisconsin DOT officials share that all lanes of WIS 172 are closed between County GE and Packerland Drive.
Oneida Nation late Saturday tweeted its West Mason casino, travel center and Packerland casinos will open at 8 a.m. Sunday, while the main casino and Irene Moore Activity Center will remain closed until further notice. All retail stores will open as usual on Sunday.
Robert Hesson was attending a friend s birthday party in a banquet room at the casino when staff rushed in and screamed at them to get out.
Hesson said he couldn t hear gunshots and initially thought it might be a fire, but as they were leaving the building, police cars were speeding into the lot.
Outside, staff told them to get further and further away from the building as police rushed in with tactical weapons and shotguns, Hesson said.

Webster said the Oneida Nation was in the process of closing all of its casino locations until further notice. Traffic also was being detoured around Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, which is nearby.
