Sign Up Perform in Perth has kicked off its annual festival as it celebrates its centenary year. The annual competition, first held in 1921, began online on Monday with percussionists performing throughout the day. Day one of the festival began with the youngest musicians performing, with more experienced playing as the day progressed. ‘Significant interest’ in online festival Secretary of Perform in Perth Eileen Waterson praised the musicians who have participated in the festival so far.

Paul Mescal cast in new Irish thriller movie

After the success of Normal People and the GAA shorts you could put Paul Mescal in anything and we d watch, there s something about this actor that we can t get enough of. Mescal has signed on for new Irish thriller, Bring Them Down. He s set to star alongside British actor Tom Burke in the film. The revenge thriller is based in the west of Ireland and tells the story of a sheep farmer and a neighbour who are in conflict after his sheep are killed by unknown men. The Irish actor recently finished filming Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directed The Lost Daughter, the cast was filled with stars including Olivia Coleman.
