Like us on Facebook.   MONTPELIER — Ninety years to the day a bill legalizing sterilization targeting Abenaki people, French Canadian and French Indian immigrants, the poor and the mentally ill was signed into law, the Vermont House of Representatives confronted the grim history of the state’s eugenics movement and unanimously endorsed a resolution apologizing for its actions nearly a century ago. In the resolution, the General Assembly “sincerely apologizes and expresses its sorrow and regret to all individual Vermonters and their families and descendants who were harmed as a result of State-sanctioned eugenics policies and practices.”

Photo courtesy of Ame There s an opening date for a hotly anticipated restaurant coming to the Bishop Arts District that s bound to change the game for Indian restaurants in Dallas. Called Âme (and pronounced Ah-mmh), it s a French Indian concept from mother-daughter duo Afifa and Sabrina Nayeb that ll open in the former Hattie s space at 418 N. Bishop Ave. According to a release, it ll open on April 9. The Nayeb Hospitality Group also owns Laili, 8 Cloves, and JuiceBabe in the Dallas Farmers Market.
