A West Michigan man is working to form a new political party to replace Republicans with candidates who pledge to rigidly uphold conservative values.
Brian VanDussen, a 44-year-old Zeeland resident and Republican precinct delegate, said the “Patriot Party’ platform focuses on election integrity, reducing the size of government and defending the U.S. Constitution. Tenets of the proposed third party align with traditional GOP positions, but VanDussen said Republicans who feel their representatives strayed from those values want new leaders to “take our country back.”
No congressional Republicans who voted against certifying the presidential election were more prolific on social media in casting doubt on the results and reacting to the deadly Capitol riot than those from Arizona, according to a new report compiled by a House Democrat.
Three of Arizona s four House Republicans Reps. Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar and Debbie Lesko feature prominently in the Friday report from Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., likely to deepen the partisan divisions on Capitol Hill.
The 1,900-page report tries to document relevant examples of troubling social media posts by those who voted against certifying the election that Lofgren considered potentially notable in weighing whether sanctions, including expulsion, may be justified.

An ethics complaint has been filed against three Republican members of Congress over their participation in events that led to the violent and deadly January 6 attempted coup at the U.S. Capitol.
Reps. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, and Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs of Arizona are accused of a seditious conspiracy to use force to prevent Congress from carrying out its constitutional and statutory duties to count the votes of the Electoral College, by the Campaign for Accountability, a government ethics watchdog founded by two former members of CREW.
