2 men arrested after T-Mobile store robbed in middle of day

Two of the men were caught following a chase.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, five men entered a Brighton T-Mobile store, 8712 W. Grand River Ave., and stated they were robbing the store, according to the Brighton Police Department.
After forcing employees into a backroom, the group gained access to a large amount of cellphones and electronic equipment, stealing multiple devices before fleeing the scene in a silver Ford Fusion, police said.

Brighton City Council is ready to take another look at social districts that could prove to be a lifeline for bars and restaurants during the pandemic.
Last summer, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, in an executive order, allowed for the creation of social districts that would allow for open carrying and consumption of alcohol in communities that wish to do so in designated common areas. This would help bars and restaurants that are being hindered by pandemic rules on capacity, when they are allowed to even be open.
A subcommittee, last year, worked on details of what such a district would look like in Brighton, and the regulations that would be applied, with help from the Brighton Police Department. Police Chief Rob Bradford said, at a City Council meeting in August, that he was supportive of the district, as long as it kept posted hours of noon to 10pm. Two suspects are jailed and facing charges after a police chase over the weekend that began with a cell phone story robbery in Brighton and ended in East Lansing.
The Brighton Police Department reports that five men entered the T-Mobile store on West Grand River at about 1pm Saturday. They forced the employees into the back room where they were able to gain access to a large amount of cell phones, iPads and other electronic devices. All five suspects then left the store in a silver Ford Fusion. No weapons were seen or implied and nobody was reported to be injured during the robbery.

BRIGHTON, Colo. Police were looking for armed suspects who carjacked a modified vehicle belonging to a paraplegic victim on Monday morning, according to the Brighton Police Department (BPD).
Officers responded to a report of the carjacking about 9:45 a.m. at 100 S. Miller Ave., according to a BPD spokesperson.
The victim, who s in a wheelchair, told officers he was outside an apartment and unloading groceries from his 2019 maroon Dodge Challenger, which was modified for his needs.
