Pueblo library district drops overdue fines for some items

PUEBLO â It s been nearly two weeks since the Pueblo library district dropped overdue fines for some items to remove financial barriers and help give equal access to residents.
Instead of overdue fines, the library will declare the item lost at 30 days and bill the borrower the replacement cost plus a $5 processing fee. Notifications will be sent out at seven, 14 and 28 days regarding the item.
The following items fall under the fine-free materials list at the library:

COLORADO SPRINGS â The El Paso County Sheriff s Office has arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting that happened off Highway 105 Thursday afternoon.
35-year-old Jose Alfredo Romero was arrested on Friday and booked into the El Paso County Jail on first degree murder.
El Paso County deputies and Palmer Lake Police Department officers said they responded to the 700 block of Highway 105 around 4:26 p.m. on Thursday where they found a woman who died as a result of a gunshot wound. More information regarding the woman has not been released yet by the sheriff s office.
This address reflects on Pueblo during 2020 with the pandemic, job loss, increased COVID-19 cases, moving into vaccine distribution, and other items regarding the city as well as discuss the hope moving into 2021.

Last year, one of Fasterling s neighbors received a notice in the mail from the city explaining the possible development.
