The popular Knott’s Berry Farm theme park in Southern California drew a police response Saturday night after a man apparently climbed a more than 300-foot metal tower near the park’s Supreme Scream ride, according to reports.
The man eventually came down safely, police in Buena Park tweeted shortly after 9 p.m. local time.
Earlier, images posted by FOX 11 of Los Angeles showed the climber just below a large American flag at the top of the tower.
Police previously tweeted around 8 p.m. local time, confirming the incident.

A shirtless man scaled a tower that stands over 300 feet at Knott’s Berry Farm on Saturday night, drawing police and emergency responders to the Orange County amusement park.
Staff at Knott’s Berry Farm first noticed a man had reached an “unauthorized area” at the park and had started to climb the Supreme Scream tower about 7:23 p.m., according to a statement from Diana Bahena, a spokeswoman for the park.
The Buena Park Police Department said it was called about 7:30 p.m. and began coaxing the man to come down from the tower. The Supreme Scream tower, which opened in 1998, plummets guests more than 250 feet in a “free fall” that is popular among parkgoers, but the overall structure tops out at 312 feet.

BUENA PARK (CNS) - A shirtless man climbed to the top of a ride tonight at Knott s Berry Farm, prompting road closures and a police and fire department response.
Police were trying to talk the man down from the Supreme Scream ride, which he was reported to have been atop around 8 p.m. Saturday, according to Buena Park police. It was unclear how he managed to climb the ride.
La Palma Avenue was closed between Beach Boulevard and Western Avenue, and police tweeted, urging people to stay away from the area.
