Galion Middle School seventh-grade students had a different kind of Field Day this year, thanks to a strong partnership with the United States Army Recruiting Office in Mansfield on May 18.

GALION The Galion Middle School seventh grade team of teachers wanted to put a different twist on the “average” Field Day experience for their students this school year. Thanks to a strong relationship with the United States Army Recruiting Office in Mansfield, the team was able put a program together that focused team building and communications skills.

GOULDS, Fla. – The Miami-Dade Police Department released audio on Thursday of the gunshots that killed a 17-year-old boy and injured two 16-year-old boys. It’s the sound of the rapid-fire that ShotSpotter technology detected in south Miami-Dade’s Goulds neighborhood.
The drive-by shooting before 9 p.m. on Wednesday was in front of a home near the intersection of Southwest 115th Avenue and 224th Street. It left two families in anguish and another grieving the death of Clinton Young, a Southridge Senior High School student who had lost his father to a drive-by shooting.
Reward now up to $15,000 to help catch shooter of SW Miami-Dade teen

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – On Friday, the reward amount for information leading to the shooting death of the 17-year-old killed Wednesday in southwest Miami-Dade went from $5,000 to $15,000. Miami-Dade Police approved an additional contribution of $5,000 and the Florida’s Sheriff Association added $5,000, according to Miami Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez.
Miami Southridge Senior High School student Clinton Young was shot along with two other teens around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Southwest 222nd Street and 115th Avenue
Police said a car drove up and at least one person inside starting shooting.

It started with setting up a home office, then progressed to cleaning out the closets. Pretty soon, we were repainting that spare bedroom and planting a garden. By midsummer, we were adding a deck or renovating the kitchen. Lumber became as precious as alcohol wipes. This has been a year for home improvements.
