NATIONAL team pool members William Navarro and Jaydee Tungcab s applications for the upcoming PBA Rookie Draft hike the number of applicants to 80 ahead of the league s Jan. 27 deadline.
The inclusion of the Gilas pool members further deepens the crop of talents in what is expected to be one of the most loaded aspirants pool in recent history.
Navarro, a 6-foot-6 center from Ateneo, and Tungcab, a 6-foot-2 guard from University of the Philippines, were part of the cadets called up for duty in the second window of the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers in Manama, Bahrain last November.
Each played a game and contributed heavily in Gilas two-game sweep of Thailand.

The Fil-Am guard adds to the backcourt options, further giving depth to what is expected to be one of the most loaded batches the league has ever seen.
Williams, 29, was a key contributor for Mighty in its travails in both the 2019 Jones Cup and it s championship run in the 2020 Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
The 6-foot-2 product of Cal State Fullerton posted 17.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in his senior year for the Titans in the 2012-13 season.
He later suited up in the NBA G League, seeing action for Sioux Falls Skyforce and Canton Charge until 2018.

FIL-AM forward Taylor Statham will join the 2021 PBA Rookie Draft, adding more ceiling to what is expected to be one of the deepest in years.
The 28-year-old announced his intentions on his social media pages, saying, Declared for the 2021 PBA Draft. All in God s hands now.
