Vietnamese localities move to quarantine entrants from coronavirus-hit areas

Several Vietnamese localities have requested people entering from coronavirus-hit areas be quarantined amid new Covid-19 outbreaks reported nationwide.
Central Quang Ngai Province s Department of Health on Tuesday requested those coming from coronavirus-hit areas, including Ha Nam Province s Ly Nhan District since April 22, Hanoi s Dong Anh District from April 23, Hung Yen Province s Phu Cu District from April 23, No. 2 Street in Binh Hung Hoa Ward of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) s Binh Tan District from April 27, Vinh Phuc Province s Phuc Yen Town from April 23 and Hoi An Town in Quang Nam Province from April 19.

COVID-19 Updates Vietnam reported zero coronavirus infections on Wednesday morning, with the national tally standing at 2,996 and recoveries reaching 2,560, the Ministry of Health said. A 25-year-old Vietnamese employee of a hotel in the central city of Da Nang tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday night after having direct contact with an infected colleague. A doctor who works in the emergency care ward of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi was confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.

A HCMC restaurant has been penalized for allowing customers to sing karaoke despite a ban to contain Covid-19.
King Restaurant on Le Lai Street in District 1 was found operating six karaoke rooms with dozens of customers inside on Tuesday night by a team of inspectors headed by city vice chairman Duong Anh Duc. The delegation was on patrol without notifying local authorities, Duc said.

Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have decided to shut down local bars, discos, and karaoke parlors following the recent detection of a community-base COVID-19 infection.
Bars, discos, and karaoke parlors in the metropolis will be closed from 6:00 pm on Friday, the first day of the weekend holiday marking the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), until further notice.
Other services are required to strictly comply with COVID-19 prevention and control measures, chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said at a meeting on Friday morning.
