High schools across the greater Tampa Bay region are planning in-person graduation ceremonies. Here s a county-by-county breakdown.
As a school year like no other comes to an end, school districts have decided to celebrate commencement with traditional in-person graduation ceremonies although with some COVID-19 restrictions.
While the particulars of each high school graduation ceremony will be unique to each school, here is what school districts across the greater Tampa Bay region are doing to celebrate their graduating seniors.
Hillsborough
Hillsborough County Public Schools 2021 graduation ceremonies will be held at Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Tapma. Each graduate will receive two tickets for guests. Each ticket will be assigned a designated entrance and specific seating area to reduce crowding. Each ceremony will be livestreamed on the district website for those who cannot attend in person.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. â Weâre less than 3 months from the end of the most challenging school year on the books. Pinellas County School District leaders are continuing to work with the Pinellas Classroom Teacherâs Association to finalize plans to keep teachers and students safe as they wrap up the year.
A new memorandum of understanding agreement between the teacherâs union and district takes safety one step further by now requiring all desks to be at least 3-6 feet apart in classrooms. The union initially asked for a 6 foot barrier. Teachers with health concerns can also use plexiglass barriers around their desks and will be given an 8 foot barrier between themselves and their students, if wanted.
