The Hawker Festival-style event, which will be the first of its kind in Carlisle, will take place in the city centre between 10 and 13 June. Hawker Festivals are popular in America and are popular among small businesses looking to showcase their wares. Organisers of the Cumbrian event are now looking for local food and drink businesses to take part in the music and street food event.
Plants, food and wellbeing fair to be held in Carlisle
More than 20 organisations are taking part in the Carlisle Plant, Food and Wellbeing Fair next month.
The free event in Bitts Park’s Victoria Gardens, has been organised by Carlisle City Council and Food Carlisle.
There will be lots of stalls in place promoting healthy living between 11am and 2pm on May 30.
Councillor Elizabeth Mallinson, Carlisle City Council’s portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, said: “Now that restrictions have been eased, we’ve organised this small-scale event to support our local communities coming out of lockdown.
“There will be around 20 stalls, with advice from composting, to growing your own produce, to taking care of your wellbeing.
Park plans £150k container unit business hub
A £150,000 scheme to build a village hub of container units in Carlisle s Bitts Park is being financed by the Government’s Towns Fund programme and will be constructed from six upcycled containers housing 13 food and drink businesses.
