Noida: The traffic movement is likely to be hit in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday (April 4, 2021) as the officials have increased security and put in strict measures in view of the recent protests by the farmers on the Chilla route between Delhi and Noida.
The protests on Friday by Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) against the attack on their leader Rakesh Tikait in Rajasthan had disrupted the traffic flow and led to the sudden closure of the route. The Chilla route between Noida and Delhi has been affected due to the demonstration. Commuters can use the DND (Delhi-Noida Direct) flyway or the Kalindi Kunj route for travelling, a Noida Traffic Police official had told PTI.

ALIGARH: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait claimed on Saturday that the attack on his convoy of vehicles in Rajasthan s Alwar was pre-planned by BJP workers and said it should serve as a reminder to the farmers protesting against three new agriculture laws of the Centre about the travails and challenges they are going to face in the days to come.
Addressing a kisan mahapanchayat at Bhaimalkheda village in this Uttar Pradesh district, Tikait said such attacks are, in fact, strengthening our resolve to further intensify our struggle, which is a battle for our existence .
ÂÂÂÂTikait claims BJPâs youth wing responsible for attack on convoy
Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh): A day after his convoy was allegedly attacked in Rajasthan s Alwar, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) chief Rakesh Tikait on Saturday claimed that the youth wing of BJP is responsible for the attack. The Centre is responsible, who else can it be? It s their (BJP s) youth wing. They were saying, Rakesh Tikait, Go Back . Where should I go? They hurled stones, used lathis, said Tikait. Why are they fighting us, we re farmers, we are not a political party, he added.
When asked about the possibility of a dialogue between farmers and the Centre, the BKU leader said, If the government was run by a party, then dialogue would have concluded by now. This government is run by companies (Corporates). They only look at their business and profit. They don t care about anyone. They will profit more if there are more hungry people in the country.

Yes, we will block the border (Delhi-Noida border), says Rakesh Tikait, as farm protest continues.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Tuesday warned of blocking the Delhi-Noida border, amid the ongoing farm protest. Rakesh Tikait along with other farmer-leaders have been camping at Ghazipur border near Delhi for months now, demanding the repeal of new reforms in the agriculture sector.
The BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said they will block the border (Delhi-Noida border). The committee is yet to decide the date.
Earlier, before January 26 mayhem in Delhi, Chilla Border at Delhi-Noida crossing was blocked by other farmer unions. However, after January 26 violence in the national capital, some farmer leaders ended their protest and vacated the border, taking moral responsibility for the violence that took place during the tractor march.
