Impressive lineup of rare wines and whiskies coming to BC this month

We don’t know about you, but when it comes time to celebrate whether it be a new promotion, birthday, or holiday it’s customary to make a pit stop at our local BC Liquor Stores location so we can raise a glass to the occasion. This month, the long-standing institution is inviting us to celebrate them as they ring in their 100-year anniversary with a collection of rare wines and whiskies in honour of the big milestone. If you’ve ever wondered what a 100-point wine tastes like or what it’s like to savour an ultra-rare, aged whisky this might just be your chance. The release will be happening on Saturday, March 13 at 15 participating locations across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and the BC Interior.

Ditching the Scooby-Doo PJs and leaving the house is a first step to winning the Pappy Van Winkle lottery

by Mike Usinger on February 5th, 2021 at 5:40 PM 1 of 1 2 of 1 Separating the weekdays from the weekends has never been more important than during the past 10 months, when working from home has become the new reality. And by that, we don’t mean swapping Monday-to-Friday s Insane Clown Posse pyjamas for Saturday and Sunday s silk Scooby-Doo ensemble. Here’s something that you can do to mix things up this weekend. Besides, that is, adding a slick of truffle oil to your avocado toast, and fresh thyme to your Wolf in the Fog Cedar Sour. BC Liquor Stores are giving bourbon fans the chance to win something special. And by that, we’re not talking an airplane-size mini-bottle of Jack Daniel’s once touched by Elvis Presley when he flew into Vancouver to headline Empire Stadium back in 1957.

We made low-cal beer with the experts at Whistler Brewing Co

Since the start of 2021, we’ve all been doing our best to stay on track with our goals for the year and find new ways to enjoy the things we love without having to give them up entirely. Like many British Columbians, for us, trying new craft brews falls into this category. But instead of choosing a high-calorie beer, we set out to find something low in calories that doesn’t compromise on taste, and we found it in Whistler with Mighty 90 Pale Ale. What makes this particular brew notable, you ask? Whistler Brewing Co. discovered a unique and innovative brewing process that allows them to create a high-quality pale ale with the flavour you’d expect from a craft beer in their portfolio all while staying under 100 calories.
