A family is lucky to be alive after discovering a pipe bomb on the doorstep of their home.
The residents found the explosive device on the front porch of their Derby Street home at Pascoe Vale, in Melbourne s north, on Sunday morning.
Kathryn Ellard said she had opened the front door and found the pipe bomb lying on the doormat with a partly burnt-out fuse. I only see things like that on television, she said.
