The man reported having at least a foot of water already in the boat when he contacted rescue teams. This was pretty critical today, there was a vessel sinking with a man onboard⦠so the first ones in had to go, Marine Rescue crew member Alan Brook told 9News.
Rescuers battled perilous conditions to reach the sinking vessel located five nautical miles east of Brush Island between Kioloa and Bawley Point, Marine Rescue NSW said.

Why won t the PM condemn the absurd assertions of Craig Kelly MP and others about coronavirus remedies, as the Chief Medical Officer has done ( MP s COVID-19 posts get medical rebuke , January 14)? It s as former PM John Howard said about one of his opponents: he doesn t have the ticker .

I d love to see Kelly and George Christensen dispatched on an overseas Parliamentary fact-finding mission to the UK or USA. There, they could check hospitals to confirm that the vast numbers being treated for COVID are real, and not a hoax . They could also inspect the refrigeration trucks that are being used as temporary morgues. They could travel without masks and vaccines, using hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin to protect themselves.
So we have a wilfully low-key NYE. It involves just the two of us. We drive up to the servo early, and get a bucket of KFC. We come back to our house and â under Christmas lights that we keep up specifically for this purpose â we hose our balcony. All the detritus of the year is washed away. Then we put garlands on our heads, light sparklers, listen to the countdown and take a couple of seconds to hear the cheer go up in the air above our little country town. We do indulge an annual bacchanal but thatâs come to be Burnâs Night (25 January) where haggis, swords, kilts, Buckfast and our friends hollering poetry in Scots furnish a more appropriately theatrical start to the year.
