Whitewash
May 12, 2021
Team Pakistan has been clinching victories after victories in all formats of the game, both at home and away. The latest victory has come against the Zimbabweans on their own soil in the second game of the two-test rubber by an innings and 147 runs. This led to Pakistan completing a whitewash of the hosts, as they had also won the first Test, quite comfortably too, by a margin of innings and 16 runs. Before that the Babar Azam men had also won the T20I series 2-1. Not just that, Team Pakistan had also trounced South Africa at home in January-February this year winning the Test series 2-0 and the T20I series 2-1. In a return tour to South Africa in April, the team clinched the ODI series 2-1, and T20I series 3-1.

ISLAMABAD: Captain Babar Azam has attributed team’s success in the sixth straight international series to some exciting and professional display by the members of his squad and they must be given credit for this amazing run.
In a post-series media talk, Babar said winning both the Tests by an innings margin was a commendable accomplishment.
“We won our sixth straight series Two Test, three T20I and one ODI series. The credit must go to all the team members especially the likes of Hasan Ali, Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abid Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Nauman Ali, Mohammad Rizwan and others. All ensured Pakistan’s supremacy first against South Africa and then against Zimbabwe.”
“I don’t care about them and their criticism,” Misbah said during a virtual press conference.
The former Pakistan captain said he was not worried about his future and is taking it one series at a time.
“We can only work and try hard. The bottom line is that results are not in our hands. As the head coach, I have not thought about my future and will not start doing that now either.”
Misbah also said the team management and selectors are trying out a lot of new players in all formats.
“Due to the exceptional conditions because of Covid-19 we have been able to take extended squads and have a close look at the available talent.
