Sin Cara Recalls Paul Heyman Saying His Character Was Dead );
Cinta de Oro (aka Sin Cara) talked about his pairing with Catalina Garcia (aka Katrina Perez) in late 2019 and Paul Heyman telling him his character was dead while speaking with Fightful.

“They were trying to push Andrade and Zelina Vega during that time. So, they brought Catalina with me to help with the storyline that was going on. I actually thought they I was going to continue having this young lady with me over the course of, maybe, a year to build something up and then all of a sudden they told me, ‘No. We’re only going to bring her here for a few weeks. Once it’s over, it’s done.’ I was like, ‘Okay. So, what’s next after that? What’s next for me? What am I gonna do? Am I suppose to just sit around again and wait?’ That was, I think, one of the things that made me decide that I wanted to leave the company, that I was done with the company. Because I ask

In an interview with Fightful, Cinta de Oro (formerly Sin Cara) spoke about getting sent to anger management by WWE for his altercations with Chris Jericho, Sheamus and Simon Gotch. Here are highlights:
On fighting people backstage in WWE: “I got sent to anger management classes. Yep, by WWE. Exactly. A lot of people have noticed, but they sent me. But, I don’t have an anger issue. Like, people that know me, they understand that it’s a respect issue. I grew up in the hood in El Segundo Barrio El Paso and Cuidad Juarez, that’s how you get respect, you know? If they don’t respect you, then you got to show them how to respect. For me, it’s never been about proving anything to anybody. If I made it to the WWE it was because I was talented enough to be there, you know? But, I got in a few here and there.”

Sin Cara (Jorge Arias) was released by WWE towards the end of 2019. That decision was made one month after he issued a statement requesting his release from the company. Sin Cara wanted out because it was obvious that there would never be any real opportunity for advancement in WWE. His situation in WWE was always a bit confusing because he was given the Sin Cara gimmick after the original performer who portrayed Sin Cara left the company.
