A video circulated on social media shows that the bikers parked their motorcycles on the road, blocking it. However, Officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station Monirul Islam said the motorcyclists staged a demonstration near Moghbazar for a few minutes and then left.

The launching girder (special type of gantry crane used for bridge construction) collapsed around 10:35am near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Confirming the incident, Shafiqul Islam, managing director of Dhaka Bus Rapid Transit Company Limited, said that the workers were on duty when the accident happened.
