Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott have rescheduled their UK tour for a second time due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Beautiful South duo have pushed back the shows previously moved to spring to autumn, kicking off on October 9. Original tickets will be honoured for the new dates, and remaining tickets are on sale now. Heaton said: We re very sorry and enormously frustrated to have to make this announcement, but due to the ongoing situation and social distancing rules around the UK and Ireland we have once again been forced into rescheduling our forthcoming tour dates.
David was a wonderful dad to Tracey and a loving father-in-law to Paul. He was also a beloved grandad, great-grandad, brother and uncle. Born in Bolton and raised in Bradshaw, David spent years working as a builder, having previously worked as a maintenance man at Paragon Wallpaper, which was Leyland Wallcoverings at the time. A popular local man, he was a keen craftsman and gardener in his later years, and took pride in his front lawn in Darwen. He was also an avid cook and baker, often generously spoiling his family and friends with traditional cakes and steak pies. He loved Spain and in his retirement he spent several months per year soaking up the sunshine in Benidorm, where he had a wide circle of close friends.
Chairman and members of the committee,
My name is Marc Hyden, and I am the director of state government affairs for the R Street Institute, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy research organization. Our mission is to engage in policy research and outreach to promote free markets and limited, effective government in many areas, including tobacco harm reduction. That is why SB 177 is of special interest to us.
The R Street Institute has long been concerned with the impacts of smoking combustible cigarettes. Years before it became law, we supported efforts to raise the age to purchase tobacco products to 21-years-old. Further, we believe that science-based harm reduction strategies are key to limiting the hazards facing people who use addictive substances but for whom abstinence approaches will not work. While I believe that SB 177 was drafted with the noblest of intentions, I believe that it could work against what I presume is the sponsor’s goal of reducing harm.
