The Prison Optician Trust works to rehabilitate offenders from Standford Hill on the Isle of Sheppey and East Sutton Park in Maidstone  |  Updated: 09:07, 24 January 2021 A Kent optician has devoted his career to transforming the lives of offenders by giving them the skills needed for a successful career in optics. Tanjit Dosanjh founded The Prison Optician Trust, an organisation which teaches offenders from Standford Hill on the Isle of Sheppey and East Sutton Park in Maidstone how to make spectacles at a training centre in Earl Street. Tanjit Dosanjh founded The Prison Opticians Trust It works by offering vocational courses to prisoners while they are serving time so they have the skills needed to find work when they are released.

Community mural deemed vandal-resistant unveiled for Llandudno

Final Final Photo Mockup 1024x273 Picture: In planning documents (clear for use by all partners) This (pictured) is the plan for a ‘vandal-resistant’ community mural to be installed on an estate wall perpetually blighted by thugs and graffiti artists. Cartrefi Conwy applied for planning permission to place the community art project on boundary wall of Tre Cwm (Hospital) Estate in Llandudno. The wall itself belongs to North Wales Housing Association (NWHA). The artwork is part of the Tre Cwm environmental regeneration scheme and involved the local community, social enterprise Culture Action Llandudno (CALL), Cartrefi Conwy and NWHA. American artist Kristin Luke was commissioned to work with locals to develop a design that celebrated the area’s heritage and developed a committee called “The Wall Is….”.
