QUEBEC The junior minister for regional economic development in the Legault cabinet, Marie-Ève Proulx, has resigned following allegations of psychological harassment of her staff. The news was confirmed in a short statement from Premier François Legault’s office Tuesday, which said Proulx had submitted her resignation and Legault accepted it. Later, at a news conference, Legault defended himself from opposition accusations that he had let the situation drag on too long. He conceded his office has been aware of the allegations of a toxic work climate in Proulx’s constituency office and her ministry since February 2020, but after meeting Proulx decided to offer her coaching to deal with it.
